Work Integrated Learning is a feature of our learning experience. More than 90 per cent of our undergraduate degrees include the opportunity to participate in work-integrated learning. This provides the real-world experience you need to hit the ground running when you graduate.

As part of her Bachelor of Communications, Emily undertook several work experience opportunities. "I've had so many opportunities to gain real experience in a variety of fields, including presenting on and running our own radio show". Soon after graduating in 2014, Emily secured a highly coveted cadetship as a journalist at 2HD/New FM Radio in Newcastle. "Without a doubt I wouldn't have got this job without the work integrated learning I undertook. It gave me both the right skills to be eligible, and the networking opportunities to be noticed for an interview".

    Work whilst you study

Visa regulations in Australia are very favourable for international students who want to work part-time during their studies. Here, you can work up to 40 hours per fortnight, and after you graduate you will be able to get a working visa and start the career of your choice.
